End of Module Evaluation

End of Module

Looking back at this brief and the task set, I believe I have delivered what was asked of me in terms of producing three book covers that work together as a set, with design boards that back up my reasoning, research, development and two publication focusing on colour theory and grid systems and layout design.

I found this brief manageable. The work load was okay, although I do believe that is because I’m now more used to the work load expected of me on this course. Ideas generation went very well and I think I developed a wide range of covers that helped influence my final outcomes. I think my covers were designed well, have a consistent design throughout with consistent grid systems and colour schemes and grid systems. The colour theory and grid system publications really helped my ideas going forward with my book cover design and was a really good way to generate ideas and be able to research a wide range of different designers and ways to use grid systems and colour theories.

The tutors have been around and are always available for advice when needed. They have been helpful and have given me ideas which have helped me further develop my work. It was easy to ask them for advice on what works best, and the crits helped me further my ideas also.

I feel the workload has felt a lot due to the number of briefs were currently working on at once, it can be quite difficult to almost juggle all the briefs at once and if overthought can feel like there’s too much work to do and things will never get done. I’ve learnt to manage my time more effectively but it is something I can still improve upon even more so.

If I was to visit this project again I would be better prepared with time management and make sure I’m consistently blogging as I feel this is one of things I need to improve upon the most. Although I’m happy with my development and initial ideas it’s always good to improve upon that and gather even more research to be able to develop more ideas.
