Final J-card Designs

The design use a consistent contrasting yellow black colour scheme, reminiscent of Acid House and the underground rave scene the genre is associated with and takes inspiration from. The Designs use a header and body text combination. The header is the Harbour typeface. The typeface is a merge of both calligraphic and blackletter typography relating to how the genre merges many genres together by taking inspiration from many. The typeface is a clean, sharp cut type, communicating the nature of the dance craze ‘Cutting Shapes’ which derives from the Deep Tech genre. The body text is the Monospace type PT Mono uses mainly on the tracklist. The typeface communicates the digital nature of the genre, the digital sounds and beats that are used throughout the genre. The illustrative elements show a step by step dance map of the popular dance craze ‘shuffling’ or ‘cutting shapes’ which derives from the Deep Tech scene. The imagery of the designs depict a Deep Tech House rave, halftones for screen printing.
