Group Work Exhibition Branding: Studio Brief 2

We were put into groups for Studio Brief 2 and tasked with branding the end of year exhibition. We got together and started to plan out ideas and themes about the exhibition and what direction we could take it.

After sitting down and discussing where we wanted to take the exhibition, we agreed that one of the central most constent parts of the exhibition were our cassette tapes. Each student had to submit cassette tapes and designs so we decided that that should be our focus. We looked more into the design and format of cassette tapes for more ideas.

We were going to create an exhibition brand that centred around everything cassette related. We'd narrowed the name down to two option, reel to reel reflects the reels inside the cassette while C60 is the standard format of a cassette. The Imagery was to be 60's style distorted to represent how tapes warp sound. We looked at j-card designs and picked out a common grid system (seen below) which would be used as a design rule throughout the branding. The layout of the exhibition was modelled on the cassette tape and the reel inside the tapes.

We then discussed and decided as a group our roles for the project, it was decided as a group that I would be responsible for the exhibition floor plan and display pieces.
