After lengthy bits of discussion we agreed upon the main aspects of the brand the band wanted updating and what work they wanted producing. I wrote up a brief that outlines the deliverables of the project, what the client wanted and how they wanted it. They gave me a lot of creative freedom with this project as they were aware and not un-happy with current branding, but knew that it could potentially be improved, especially in terms of consistency across all platforms.
We agreed on what they wanted and outlined important things I needed to consider when going away and producing this work. The main concerns were not wanting to stray from their indie rock vibe, staying away from any style that could possibly give the viewer the idea the band produced more indie pop, “hipster” style music.
The main ideas to take into the design development process were an emphasis on the ethos of the genre and the ideas that both the genre and band carry. These must be displayed through the branding.
A consistent brand that can incorporate experimental elements, simple yet effective. I was to produce a logotype, set of gig promo posters, general posts promoting the band, album covers, social media AVI’s, social media banners and social media posts.
