OUGD505 SB1 Final Map

This is my final mapping piece for OUGD505 SB1. Typographic mapping is a map generating by mapping the events of a house party across the night of the event using typographic forms. The map consists of various elements from across the night mapped using typography and laid on top of each other to create a single, 2D map with various abstract forms.

The map uses a neutral typeface in Neue Haas Grotesk Display Pro 55 Medium for a minimalist, modern style as well as a being a neutral typeface to hold the map information. The map used negative space, typography and simple black and white colour way to create a striking abstract representation of the house party. The main map is a collection of each element, merged together to create experimental forms and has the ability to be deconstructed and presented as each individual element alongside the main piece. The map demonstrates an abstract view of typography by breaking down the rigid, linear stereotype of typography, using type in free flowing and shapes with lots of curvature.
