OUGD505 SB1 Development

I decided to develop the pre-drinks idea further and set out documenting that to try and generate some interesting results.

The first pictures are of the start of the early evening, not too messy and not really cluttered. I made sure documented pictures at the start as not to forget later in the evening. These pictures would start off as a base, though I intended to document over the course of the evening rather than just at one point of the night and then stop.

I produced some sketches of various parts in the night, adding and and layering up as I went along. These produced some nice, cluttered sketches which is what I wanted, that would be great to work from and produce some interesting visuals. The built up sketches contained various elements such as bottles, glasses, bottle caps and spillages and it was important for me to capture these elements and layer them together, then break them apart and deconstruct them in a more interesting, abstract way before putting them back together again.

I deconstructed these elements and started to re-produce them in typographic form. I felt that not only would this relate to my practice more, but would be a modern, minimalist style. I also thought that using typography to map each element meant that when coming back together and seeing each element overlap, there would be better and more interesting patterns forms that appeared. I carried on with deconstructing and reconstructing each element then bringing them back together to produce the final mapping piece.
