OUGD505 SB1 Crit

My initial sketches however stood me in good stead going into a crit, I had a vague idea of what I wanted and what features I wanted my map to have, I wanted something abstract, something unique and unconventional in design. We sat down and discussed ideas in the crit, I explained these sketches and the ideas I wanted to implement into my work and the group came back with some more ideas I could try out. There were suggestions to utilise beer mats with ink, or use beer as my object to map my idea with amongst others. The chat was beneficial and game me some good ideas and something to go forward with, we discussed the possibility of documenting kitchen mess, across the week or a certain period of time, documenting the mess made and left on the kitchen table. I like the idea and thought the results could be interesting. We discussed the idea further and all agreed that that concept was good, but using that documentation process on a house party of pre-drinks would yield more interesting results. House party’s and pre-drinks are usually incredibly messy, so there was potential for some interesting outcomes, laying and patterns in the maps.
