Design Development

After consideration, I decided I wasn’t 100% happy with my design style. The values of the genre were there but I felt the design wasn’t something I was happy with. I tried a stripped back more minimal design that still incorporate the typeface and its justification, a contrasting colour scheme reminiscent of Acid House and minimal, outlined illustrative elements that complemented the contrasting outlined and bold header type. I used PT Mono monospace type for my body text as it represented the digital beats and sounds associated with the genre. Later adding imagery to the cover of the j-card of a Deep Tech rave to break of the negative space of the cover. The illustrative elements were put on the lip of the j-card and the folded rear above the patterned “Cutting Shapes” type. The image was further adjusted by half toning it for easier screenprinting. My flag design mirrored the design style of my j-cards.
