I found this brief manageable. The work load was good
although I do believe that is because I’m not used to the workload and know
what is expected of me. I also found the workload a lot easier to deal with as
it has been the only module for us to focus on. Ideas generation at first was
difficult with my initial genre, it was quite generic and didn’t have many quirks
or interesting gimmicks I could play off for my ideas. My new genre was a lot
better and gave me lots more to work with. My research stood me in good stead
to kick on and develop a solid idea. Our group exhibition brand workload was
manageable with a very quick turnaround.
The tutor has been around and are always available for
advice when needed. He has been helpful and has given me ideas when needed
which have helped me further develop my work. It was easy to ask for advice on
what works best, and the crits helped me further my ideas also.
I feel the workload has felt a lot over the year due to the number
of briefs we’re currently working on at once, it can be quite difficult to
almost juggle all the briefs at once. There is frankly way too much work on at
once to be able to concentre on cop on the timetabled days, there isn’t enough
time when other briefs are pushed heavily.
If I was to visit this project again I would be better
prepared with time management and make sure I’m consistently blogging as I feel
this is one of things I need to improve upon the most. I would try to
communicate better a group to discuss design decisions as some parts the exhibition
I feel did not communicate what we were trying to achieve as well as we thought.
The cassette tape brief I would go back and try maybe a different design style,
maybe try develop more initial ideas and see if those outcomes are better or if
some designs can be merged to produce a better outcome. I would also give myself
enough time for screenprinting. Even though I’m happy with my outcomes, I’m not
as satisfied as id like and maybe having more time to experiment with the
printing would result in a better outcome. Although I’m happy with my outcome it’s
always good to improve upon that and gather even more research to be able to
develop more ideas and produce better outcomes.
