Printworks London

https://onlystudio.co.uk/printworks-london

One of my favourite projects is the Printworks London visual identity by Only Studio. The Manchester based studio have a few really nice music based projects but this is one of my favourites. The logotype and wordmarks reflect the rollers of a printing press and use large, block type that instantly grabs the viewers attention. The logotype is striking visually and is instantly recognisable. The style of the logotype and its impact is something I want to try and implement into my own work. The bold, simple, in your face type really reflects the indie rock genre and could communicate the Skylights brand and ethos well.

The header and body text relationship is really nice and works really well. The brand communicates a clear hierarchy and is consistent throughout the branding. The black and white colour scheme doesn’t take anything away from the branding, the colour palette is straightforward, simple and compliments the simple yet striking identity.

The brand is something I really want to try and take inspiration from as I think the same simple yet striking nature of the Printworks identity can be transferred and used in relation to the band and can effectively reflect the genre and the band.
